For International Women’s Day 2022, we created a new range of inspiring women in minifig form and Octavia E. Butler is one of them!

Whenever science-fiction authors are mentioned, you have to bring up Octavia E. Butler. The first science-fiction recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship, and a multiple recipient of the Nebula and Hugo awards.

She comes with a quote printed on an optional baseplate which says: "The big talent is persistence.".

20% of sales of this minifig are split between Kiva and the Chrysalis Youth Empowerment Network.

Kiva is an international non-profit organisation that gives out micro-loans to women around the world to help them with their small businesses. The money is a loan and not a donation. When the loan is paid back to us, we then add the money straight back to the loan pot again, so that more and more women can benefit from these micro-loans. We do not receive interest from these loans.

The Chrysalis Youth Empowerment Network (Uganda) aim to advance gender equality through girls’ education
